近代，如果有贪官可以买房产、亲戚眷顾、小孩到国外学习、发展、购物、老人看病养生、经济转入国外、整合资源……就算是被查到，国家对很多经济损失已经是无法挽回，但作为贪官的家人、亲戚的生活水平仍然会比普通老百姓过得优越很多。有一些监狱，甚至对贪官“照顾”的 无微不至，最起码比普通的狱友也是会好很多。
